Resilience Grows Here has partnered with East Granby Middle School to work with years 6, 7 & 8 each month to grow the understanding of resilience and how it applies to all of our lives. This dynamic and interactive curriculum takes a whole school approach with all staff and students participating in the learning sessions, as well as parents receiving information on how to reinforce the resilient attribute their child has learned that month. We seek to have students empowered with the tools to find their inner resilience and to learn to approach adversity as a challenge they have the tool box to address!
SEPTEMBER: WHAT IS RESILIENCE?
OBJECTIVE: To introduce students to the concept of resilience and prepare them for our year of learning.
RGH hopes to build the foundation for middle and high school students in East Granby. The evidence based program lives up to its speed with the alternative learning style outside the classroom and tapping into team building based programs that help kids build resilience and match the attributes of the Resilience Grows Here principals.
The lessons planned reflect the beliefs and attributes of the RGH principal. The foundation of the program is to help students learn about the resilience characteristics of the program. Team building is an essential part of the process. Not only do these lessons reflect modern problems faced by students. Teachers and parents are also welcomed into this process and may very well be a part of the solution. Knowledge is the key and we believe that the essential piece of this program is to keep it going and focus on the needs of the student. The focus of the program is that we should all take a step back and reflect on ourselves and our lives based on the one solo thing that keeps us alive. Being alive is also very important at thsi iong
